Take Action With a Mastermind Group

Good morning W.O.R.R. soldier. You have come a long way in getting your online business established. If you’ve followed along with this 7-day bootcamp you should be well on your way to having your business running, ready for your first leads.

You can pat yourself on the back. Well done soldier.

But before you throw up your arms in victory, I want to discuss one more important ingredient to building a successful business from home. As a true W.O.R.R. student you should be armed with all the weaponry you can get your hands on for a fighting chance.

This last bootcamp day is focused on masterminding.

Ready – Aim – Fire

Once you have made the transition from employee to W.O.R.R. graduate you must take positive action every single day. Opt to do at least one marketing and lead generation activity each day, no matter how little time you have. It is possible to build a thriving business from home part time. It just takes dedication and guts – and a big enough WHY.

Since your circumstances differ from the soldier next to you it’s hard for me to advise on a specific plan of action. I have also learned that designing DMOs and the likes will only distract you from the REAL thing. Action.

• Take action by actively promoting your business every day

• Take action by using a couple of lead generation methods each day

• Take action by following up on your leads each day (this is often neglected)

• Take action by actively masterminding with like-minded people each day

• … TAKE ACTION EACH DAY!

One thing that works for me really well is to attack each day doing two major tasks first. Once I have accomplished these the day becomes easier. I often find that I have tons of time to spare to get everything done.

The second thing I do is to determine my schedule for tomorrow before I go to bed. This allows me to hit the ground running the next morning, without wasting precious time.

Are You a Team Player?

Being a team player in the online marketing arena is essential if you want to see measurable success. It’s simply impossible to do it all by yourself. Especially, if you are intrigued by attraction marketing.

Team players simply get further than lone soldiers trying to do it all. As a team player you will have more exposure to more people, and more manpower.

Finding a Team

When you first venture into the online battlefield in search of a treasure you must seek it with a capable mentor. People who are mentored by qualified and experienced professionals stand a much better chance of actually surviving the war.

When you are looking for a mentor go with your gut feeling. If it feels right, it probably is. Some people just click and are meant to work together. Others don’t. It’s important you evaluate your potential mentor based on their actions and not their promises.

If the person promises you easy riches run as fast as you can. Chances are, the person is lying to you to profit from your gullible beliefs. An honest mentor has nothing to lose by being upfront and open with you. Ask questions. Trust your instincts.

Since you declared war on the rat race you need to make this happen. The right mentor can help you get there.

What Makes a Great Mentor?

A good mentor is:

• Experienced

• A great leader

• Available to the team, but with clearly-defined boundaries

• Internet savvy

• Familiar with your struggles because he/she has been there

• Interested to help you grow your business because it will grow his/hers

• Supportive of your dreams and goals

• A good communicator

• Strict with you when you need it most!

What a Great Mentor Is Not

Some new marketers seem to mistake a mentor for a babysitter. Therefore, you need to understand what a great mentor should never resemble:

• Someone who does absolutely everything for you

• Someone who creates/changes your vision and mindset (this is your responsibility)

• Someone who guarantees your success (this is your responsibility and defined by your actions, or the lack of it)

In the years I have done business online I have learned that the people who usually “make it,” are those who are not afraid to be guided by a mentor – whether they are an affiliate marketer or a network marketer. Mentors are pillars of strength. They will help us overcome hurdles by being strict when we slack off. A mentor should not sugarcoat a negative situation to make you feel better (this is what friends are for), but be brutally honest to help you see the situation in a truthful light. Only then can you become the person you need to be to advance to the next level.

Successful people share another important attribute. They mastermind. Networking and working with a group of like minded people is key to supercharging your business into the stratosphere. Today is all about paid advertising. Unless you have a monthly advertising budget of $300-500 I suggest you stick with the free advertising in bootcamp day 5. Paid advertising is the secret weapon of cashed-up online marketing soldiers. Advanced W.O.R.R. soldiers. These entrepreneurs understand the importance of reinvesting some of their earnings for faster business growth.

The Importance of Reinvesting Funds

Since you are reading this in the hopes of building a successful online business from home, I need to stress to you the difference between a hobby and a business.

Many wannabe entrepreneurs are dabbling in online programs because they hope to make money. Once they realize that there is no such thing as “overnight riches,” or “a quick recipe for success,” they usually give up, or they keep dabbling. All the while this group of wannabes is kidding themselves. They believe they are running a business when in fact they don’t.

They are nothing else than glorified hobbyists.

Are you a subscriber to this false belief? I hope not, because if you are, you need to seriously go back to day 1 of this W.O.R.R. Bootcamp to define your WHY.

OK, let’s look at paid advertising and why reinvesting some of your earnings is a must for any self- respecting entrepreneur.

When you run a business you do so with the intention of returning a profit. Initially, the profits might be small, but as your business grows so will your profits. Ideally, you want your profits to be healthy. Over time this will become easier as you reinvest some of the profits into profit-generating methods. Advertising. Done right, advertising can bring you all the leads you need to earn a healthy profit – every month.

Done wrong, advertising can bring you to to the brink of financial ruin. Therefore, you want to be smart about the way you advertise. I can’t stress this enough, if you don’t have enough capital to work with, you might want to stick to free advertising methods – as outlined in yesterday’s bootcamp.

How Much Money Should I Reinvest Into Advertising?

This is a common question. The answer is simple; only reinvest what you can realistically afford:

• Do you have money to reinvest after paying off all of your business costs? (Hosting, list management fees, membership fees, etc.)

• Do you have money to reinvest if you rely on your business to fund your living costs?

• Can you spare a fraction of your profits for paid advertising without making a loss?

Video Marketing

Video marketing is the nuclear weapon of internet marketing. If you do nothing else, stick with videos. It’s relatively easy to create short, informative tutorials on any Windows computer (Windows Media Player), Camtasia or on iMovie (Mac users). These videos don’t have to be long, 30 seconds to one minute is perfect.

They will become your voice on the Internet, pointing people to your website. Videos are great as a branding tool. You could also create short tutorials once you learn how to do the more technical aspects of your business to help others.

Alternatively you can use Animoto. This is a free online service that lets you create stylish videos with the help of pictures and music clips. Definitely worth a look if you are on a budget. Another alternative is to make a Google Docs slideshow.

Best Way to Make and Distribute Your Videos

Once your video is done it’s time to distribute it to the interwebs. This is something that can easily be semi-automated to save time and money. One of the best tools for this purpose is:

Forum Marketing

Joining top industry forums based on your niche is another excellent free way to showcase your knowledge, provide value and build relationships. The best way to find related forums to your niche is by doing a Google search. Do a search that goes like this:

Your keyword (replace with your niche keyword. i.e. Internet Marketing) + forums

Most of the top forums will allow you to add a signature to your profile. This allows you to hyperlink your squeeze page and/or blog. The more valuable posts you make the more relationships you build and the more opt-ins you generate to your lists.

Social Media Marketing

If you aren’t using social media marketing you’re missing out on precious free traffic. Your web forms can be integrated with top visited social media networks such as Facebook and Twitter. If have a Squidoo lens, you can also include opt-in pages right into your existing page. It’s available as a module, and it’s a great way to generate instant traffic to a remotely hosted opt-in page.

Hub Pages is also another great method of drawing in new traffic and subscribers. HubPages works similarly to Squidoo in terms of being able to create instant single websites even if you are unfamiliar with HTML. You can set up numbers of social media profiles, incorporating your squeeze page into each one. Just make sure to provide sufficient content so that you are offering something of value to visitors.

Note: Top social media sites are considered authority websites and carry exceptional weight within the search engines, not only will you be able to generate fresh leads from your opt-in page itself, but you can also pre-build a relationship with your list since they are able to see your picture and updates on your profiles.

A giveaway event serves to attract more prospects by giving away free gifts for increased exposure. You can easily participate in giveaway events that are geared towards online marketing by doing a Google search for giveaway events. These events will be organized by and with other marketers in order to offer your free giveaway and joint-venture. Best of all if you’re just starting out, many giveaway organizers will allow your giveaway even if you don’t have a list. It’s important to provide high quality gifts because it will set the tone for the relationship you build with future customers.

Blogging

Blogging is favored by many entrepreneurs as the most effective way to drive traffic to a site. I agree. Blogging rocks. WordPress is by far the best blogging platform. Many website owners make this process too hard on themselves. Your blog needs to look and read good enough, but you don’t have to win any design awards for doing so. Leave this to the pros instead.

Your mission is to create awareness – about you. About your business.

A frequently updated blog will give you plenty of search engine ammunition.

Get into the habit of blogging several times per week. In the beginning I suggest you aim for daily updates. Over time you can reduce the frequencies to twice weekly or so. There is no rule for blogging.

The daily updates will be your covert search engine ally. It will attract search engine spiders to your site. This will help you rank higher – especially if you optimize your site.

List Building 101

List building is all about connecting with your target audience and building a relationship with them by offering them high quality information that provides value in exchange for their subscription.

Once a subscriber is a confirmed member of your list, you can begin building a relationship allowing them to get to know, like and trust you. Later you may begin sending promotional based follow up emails in balance with relevant and useful content based on your overall market. This is absolutely all you need to continue to market your products and services continually.

Email marketers (like you!) collect leads using a combination of squeeze pages and opt-in forms.  These forms are generated by your autoresponder provider and are embedded into the HTML code of your squeeze page template.

Each time a visitor opts-in through your squeeze page and enters in their name and email address, they are added to your mailing list database, and become an active subscriber of your newsletter.

List building helps facilitate the process of converting subscribers into active customers, since once your prospect has been added to your mailing list, you are able to develop a relationship with them, that will encourage sales as well as repeat sales (which will make up the larger majority of your email marketing income).

The Tools You Need

In order to begin building a profitable email marketing campaign however, you will need to make sure that you have all of the tools that are required, including:

A squeeze page is very similar to a sales page in terms of its primary function, which is to pull in customers and motivate them to take action, in this case, subscribe to your list.

That “call to action” is essential in creating high performance squeeze pages, and you must place emphasis on ensuring that your visitors are directed to fill in the opt-in form, otherwise they will not be added to your list.

You must clearly direct visitors to enter in their name and email address as well as instruct them to confirm their request to join your list (if you are using double opt-in).

One thing to keep in mind when developing your squeeze page is that it should motivate visitors in the same way that a traditional sales page should, however, the actual structure of your squeeze page will be very different.

With sales pages, they are typically designed to offer as much information about a particular product or service as possible, since the main focus is on transforming a visitor into a customer.

With a squeeze page, you aren’t asking your visitor to make a decision to purchase or commit to anything other than to subscribe to your mailing list where they are rewarded with a free product or valuable information and tips.

Keeping this offer or giveaway in mind, when you develop a squeeze page, you need to have a strong focus on your market, and design your offer around an existing problem, need or question.

To come up with the best incentive offer possible, you’ll need to thoroughly evaluate your market, as well as competing offers so that you can create  a relevant product that is in demand and likely to capture attention from your target audience.

Squeeze pages should be designed to offer a clear navigation system, basic structure, template and a compelling offer.

Essential Survival Secret #7: Create A High Converting Squeeze Page

To help you create the most effective squeeze page possible, here is a quick overview of the most important elements that you need to include in your own squeeze page:

Compelling, Attention-Grabbing Headlines

Your squeeze page’s headline should be  the very first thing that your visitor sees and therefore it needs to attract attention, draw them in and keep them focused long enough for them to become a confirmed subscriber of your mailing list.

Here are some quick tips for eye catching headlines:

• Display a sense of exclusivity
• Identify a problem and offer a solution
• Include words that spark emotions of excitement, comfort and relief such as powerful, mind-blowing, unstoppable, system, reveal, discover, secrets, profitable, etc.
• Include words that illustrate the “speed” benefits of receiving your information like quick, fast, rapid, build income quickly, etc.

* You could also use quotes in your text, which will not only help with capturing attention from your visitors but will also create a sense of social proof as it implies that it may have been taken directly from a testimonial from someone who has used your information to benefit themselves in some way.

Although it may seem like a lot, your actual goal is to convey those elements in your message in 2 lines. Make it short and sweet, yet appealing and enticing. Headline text size should be larger than the rest of the text on your page, and for increased exposure, consider adding color to your headline (red and blue works well).

You could also consider highlighting your headline and any sub headline that you use. A sub headline should be smaller in size compared to your main headline and in solid colors such as black.

A sub headline functions as an additional “enticer”, so keep in mind conveying max value in your message.

Remember to center your headline within your template and try to work in your opt-in box so that it is close to the headline itself.

Short, Impacting Content In Body

You should keep your content trimmed down so that it focuses only on the most important information that you have to share with your audience.

Avoid wordy squeeze pages that offer endless paragraphs of information.  Your squeeze page has ONLY one task, to convert visitors into subscribers and so you need to keep it clear, concise and of course, exciting!

You will want to split test your copy (including lengths) to determine what will increase conversion rates, but in the meantime, here is a quick overview of how to better structure your squeeze page content so that it is easy to read, understand and encourages subscriptions, be sure to include:

1) Bullet Points To Highlight Benefits

Bullet points emphasize important features and draw attention to the special aspects of becoming a subscriber of your list. Consider doing a short video outlining the bullet list of benefits. If you do video you have the added benefit of creating instant rapport and people can get to know, like and trust you quicker! Great for relationship building on first impression!

This is a great way to also showcase the benefits of becoming a subscriber, and what they will receive, in return, for their subscription.

For example, if you were offering a report on the ‘Insider Secrets To Finding A Work At Home Job’, your benefit list could include:

• Find out how to land a high paying telecommuting job even if you have absolutely no experience online!
• Avoid devastating work at home job scams that circulate the industry and target people just like you!
• Discover the #1 freelance website where 99.9% of new telecommuters are able to secure employment in their first week online.
• Create a compelling resume that guarantees you stand out from the crowd and get noticed by top paying companies online!

2) The Retention Of Focus At ALL Times

Eliminate any external links and keep your squeeze page focused.  You want to avoid distractions that direct potential subscribers to external websites (or even internal pages on your site).

Their ONLY option should be to subscribe to your mailing list.  You don’t want to confuse them or deter them from your one objective; getting that lead.
Avoid navigation menus, widgets, plugins, or links to articles.  Your squeeze page should be one-page long, feature your bullet list, headline, opt-in box and private policy. Eliminate clutter and any information or content that is not necessary to securing the subscriber.

3) A Strong & Clear Call To Action

If you want your squeeze page to successfully recruit new subscribers, you NEED to clearly direct visitors to fill out your opt-in form and confirm their request.

Do NOT assume that people know what to do. Remember, not everyone is likely to have experience with mailing lists, and so you need to directly instruct them as to how they are able to gain access to your free, high quality offer. You can do this by including an arrow pointing to the opt-in fields (i.e. “name” email address) and also having a clear statement instructing them on exactly how to receive your free giveaway item. Something like:

“Put in your name and email address in the form below to receive my FREE gift”

Just the same, you also want to direct them to confirm their request to your list once they have entered in their name and email address.

If you are using a double opt-in format, you will NOT be able to communicate with subscribers who have not verified their request, so make absolutely certain that you are following up and instructing everyone to confirm.

(You can do this by automatically directing subscribers to a secondary page on your site that thanks them for subscribing and tells them that the final step is to check their email and confirm their request to join your list by clicking on the verification link sent out by your autoresponder system. Autoresponders like Aweber will facilitate this process for you.)

Just like your squeeze page, keep your confirmation page clean and crisp.  Avoid ANY external links at this point because you need your subscriber to follow your instructions instantly, eliminating any chance of them forgetting to confirm. You must lead them!

To summarize, your list building funnel consists of three major parts:

• Squeeze Page With Opt-In Form
• Compelling High Quality Offer or Incentive
• Follow Up Emails And Broadcasts

3) Giveaway ( Free Gift List Building Incentive)

Your giveaway is essentially, the most important element on your squeeze page.

Remember if your offer doesn’t motivate visitors into subscribing, all of your marketing efforts will be lost. This means that you need your offer to be of interest to the majority of your target market, rather than to a small group of subscribers. The higher the quality of your giveaway as well as the more relevant your offer is to your market, the easier it will be to recruit new subscribers.

There are many different ways to ensure that the product you are giving away is of a high-perceived value by your subscriber base and likely to be successful in converting new subscribers.

To start, consider the different types of products that are being successfully sold in online marketplaces and create a shorter version of a hot selling product, and offer it for free to anyone who subscribes to your list.

If competitors are successful in selling a similar product and you are giving away a high quality product based on the same topic, imagine just how easy it will be to recruit visitors and subscribers to your site.

And better yet, what better way to begin building a relationship with an active subscriber base than by offering them something of equal value with no strings (or price tag) attached! Remember

• Video Tutorials

Once you have your squeeze page set up and your autoresponder account created, you need to focus on developing an email sequence that is activated from the moment a website visitor becomes a subscriber.

This is how it works:

Your visitor enters in their information via your squeeze page and confirms their request to be added to your newsletter.

Your autoresponder kicks in and emails your prospect a welcome email that you have written. This is sent out automatically within minutes of their subscription.

Your autoresponder continues to email your subscriber on pre-set dates, according to the system you have set up within your autoresponder account.

You can determine delivery dates and times from your administration panel, and all of the emails you create within your autoresponder account will be sent out to all active subscribers on a regular schedule.

Example: You create 4 emails that are scheduled to be delivered accordingly:

1st Email: instantly sent to your subscriber thanking them for subscribing to your list and provides the download that you initially offered on your squeeze page, usually a direct link to the download location on your website.

2nd Email: Scheduled to be sent out on the second day after your subscriber has confirmed their request, and includes an email offering free content, additional articles or another report. Follows up to confirm first download was obtained.

3rd Email: Scheduled to go out on the 6th day of the sequence, promotional based, advertising a related product.

4th Email: Scheduled to go out on the 8th day…and so on.

Here are some powerful positive relationship building tips for creating instant rapport with your list:

• Start off on a good foot by introducing yourself and congratulating the subscriber for taking action
• Make yourself as available and supportive as possible by encouraging your list to get into contact with you. At the bottom of every email offer your contact information including your name, your websites, social media profiles, Skype, etc.
• Follow up by making sure they were able to download your free giveaway and offer to provide assistance with anything that they may be struggling with

The balance that you use, when mixing up free content with promotional based material is entirely up to you, I personally normally do a 3:1 ratio. So I will send out 3 pieces of valuable content and 1 promotional advertisement. At times I mix it up in a different order. Just keep in mind maintaining balance. The more value you give to your list, the easier and faster it will be to develop a relationship with your subscribers. Likewise, if all you do is send out free valuable content and never send out a promo your list may view this as strange since they’ve grown accustomed to only receiving free stuff from you. So keyword is balance. Use it.

Taking an aggressive approach by only sending out promotional ads works for some, however for the majority, it’s always best to make it a priority to initially and continually focus on building a relationship with your list, and then doubling that up with promotional offers, or recommendations to affiliate based products.

Essentially, you want to ‘condition’ your list so that they grow accustomed to receiving promotional based emails from you on a regular basis.

It’s up to you to keep a pulse on your subscriber base, and determine what works best, how frequently you contact them, and whether they respond well to the products you are promoting.

Just don’t be afraid to experiment and test out new ideas and innovative ways to consistently grow and maintain your subscriber base.

Since you are looking to run an online business you can’t get around showcasing your business with a website. First register a domain and set up your WordPress Blog.

Registering Your Domain and Setting Up Your Host

These are the steps you need to follow to get your site launched today:

1. Go to Hostgator and buy a suitable domain name. Try and use your keyword/business name in the domain if possible, to help you with search engine rankings

2. Sign up for the best and easiest hosting Hostgator.

3. Read the welcome email you get from Hostgator and note down your Nameservers

4. Login to your Hostgator account and navigate to – Domain Management – Domain Manager

– Click on Your Domain name – Click on Set Nameservers – Enter nameservers given to you by Hostgator. These are two separate parts and look something like this – NS529.HOSTGATOR.COM + NS530.HOSTGATOR.COM – Click on Save Changes

5. Login to your website’s cPanel by going to http://www.yoursitesurl.com/cpanel or if the site hasn’t propagated yet use the login given in your Hostgator welcome email

What makes a good leader?

This is a question I get asked by my army of soldiers all the time. It’s a good question. I think Napoleon summed it up:

Would you agree?

If you can lead people by giving them hope, they will follow you to the end of the world. In doing so you will have become a great leader. But this is easier said than done, especially if you are used to following orders.

The average employee is used to being told what to do. Unless you are in middle- or upper management you are probably quite content in following other people’s orders. There could be peace in this crazy behavior – most people refuse to take charge when they don’t have to.

If you are currently thinking like this, let me ask you something: “Are you really happy being told when to rock up to work, when to break for lunch, when to grab a morning coffee, when to go home, etcetera etcetera…”

Stop kidding yourself that you are living in a free country. What’s FREE about it? You get told when to rock up to work. You get told when to take a lunch break. You are obliged to pay taxes. You are commanded around by big brother and sadly, most people don’t even realize this – ever!

Don’t get me wrong. I understand that we need to show responsible behavior toward one another while living in a society. But I‘m not subscribing to the belief that we have to work a J.O.B. until retirement, only to survive on peanuts because the pension/401K isn‘t sustainable to pick up the slack… ‘nuff said!

It’s All In Your Mind

Effective leadership starts in your mind. Once you make the decision to become a great leader you have everything you need at your disposal. Instead of crawling around the floor eating shit you can be the guy/gal telling others to eat shit. Sounds good, but actually this is incorrect!

Great leaders lead by example. They possess a strong sense of justice. They lead their team and guide them with clearly defined rules, while giving them enough room to develop their own persona.

Happy people work better. They achieve more. The great leader leads his/her team toward a harmonious work environment – whether in business or at a J.O.B. But since we have declared war on the rat race we are no longer interested in being Just Over Broke. We want more from life.

Keep going until you have defined the basics of your brand, whether you choose a logo design, a slogan, a picture or a headline.

This will likely take some time – please stick with it, it’s worth it. Here are some questions to trigger your creative mind:

• How do you intend to present yourself online?

• Are you planning to use the same profile picture everywhere? You should!

• Will you use your real name, your business name, your nickname?

• Are you planning to use the same username everywhere on the Internet?

• Do you have a complimentary color scheme in mind for your niche? If so, do you intend to repeat that scheme on all the sites and profiles you create?

• What logo do you have in mind?

• What image do you want to paint in the eyes of your prospects?

As you can see, online branding is serious business. Do it right from the start by clearly defining your online persona BEFORE you start creating profiles. It will be a blessing in disguise and you will come back thanking me in years to come.

Action Plan for Developing PMA

The best way to develop a great positive mental attitude is with daily immersion. If you are consistently exposed to naysayers and negative people (something that is commonly experienced by student W.O.R.R soldiers), you must limit those distractions first. Aim to read a chapter of a personal development book or listen to an audio every single day. Preferably twice a day. I like to start my day on a positive note with a healthy injection of personal development, and end the day on a similar note.

Too Busy? Here‘s a Little Trick

A good way to do this with the least time suck is by listening to MP3 tracks in the car on your way to the office, or while you walk your dog in the park. You could set your alarm clock to play some motivating tracks before you get up. Trust me, this is a fantastic way to prime your mind. It will make you a better W.O.R.R soldier to boot.

What is your “why”?

You’d be surprised to hear that many people fail to escape the rat race because they fail to define their WHY. Having a clearly defined reason for wanting to be your own boss will help you advance through the obstacles in record time.

Running your own business is often challenging, but so is working for a boss. Your business can be your ticket to true freedom and happiness, despite the setbacks and the hard times. You can be the master of your own destiny.

How to Define Your “Why”

If you struggle to put your finger on your “why”, then the following training will help. I’m not a big believer in creating lists. Lists are for losers because they are usually lost – forgotten in the paper clutter that graces the average American household. Don’t even go there. There is a better, and easier way to establish clear goals.

Step # 1: The Definition of Your Core Values

• What are your core values?

• What do you hold dear to your heart?

• What makes you happy?

• How do you approach other people?

• How do you handle negative situations?

• What do you stand for in life?

Your core values are part of your character. These are the attributes that attract other people into your life. A good way to help define them (if you need help) is to ask your friends and family why they like/love you. Be prepared for some surprising answers though.

Try to establish your three biggest core values – the traits that make you unique. Hold on to them and move to step # 2.

Step # 2: Create Your Mission Statement

Remember, your mission is to kill all enemies and eventually become a W.O.R.R soldier. Your mission statement will lead you there.

In its essence a mission statement is your road map for the journey between the NOW and your BUSINESS SUCCESS, or any other goal you want to achieve for that matter. You will have an acute sense of direction, knowing exactly where to go, what to do and what to avoid. Your mission statement will act as your own personal bodyguard. It will guide you toward your goals faster by helping you to determine between important and unimportant decisions. It will also defend your mind against those nasty and evil enemies – the negativity evangelists.

Step # 3: Connect to Your Vision

True leaders share one thing – they have a clear vision of where they currently are, and where they

want to be. Your personal vision statement is a blueprint. This blueprint could be written and displayed like a tactical command, or presented as a simple bulleted lists. It’s totally up to you. I prefer to make a simple mindmap, kind of like a boxed atom that has interlinking strains.

What’s important is that you do this exercise, from start to finish. Do it NOW! Failing to do so can, and probably will cost you your chances of running a successful business from home. A very clever man once said:

“Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character.

Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.”

Mr. Outlaw was right. Weeding out your mind and clearing it of all negative thoughts is an essential activity you should aim to do daily. It’s not something you can choose to do occasionally because we are all exposed to negativity on a daily basis. Here are just some of the evil suckers that try and kill your motivation:

• TV

• Newspapers

• Gossip

• Negative People

If you can, stay away from these. Opt for positive mental food instead. Read the suggested books in this chapter, listen to a motivational MP3, or attend a powerful seminar.

Focus on and spend 30 minutes daily visualizing having already achieved your goals and living your dreams. Personally, I use VisionBoard Software so my goals and dreams are constantly on my mind. It can also be used as a screen saver on your pc which is great because every time you go idle you can be reminded of your dreams when you return. Go and get it here.
